There's a vast array of recreational and cultural opportunities in Liberty, Missouri. The Liberty Performing Arts Theater, the Liberty Symphony Orchestra and the Corbin Theater Company bring live theater and music to the community. More than 500 acres of park land including trails, spray grounds, tennis courts, and playgrounds are available along with sports fields and shelters available by reservation.
The Liberty Parks and Recreation Departments oversees the parks as well as furnishing a well equipped community center with 2 indoor and 2 outdoor pools, meeting rooms, childcare services, a games area and gymnasium. Fitness classes and programs are offered year round as well as team sports opportunities for youth and adults. The Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is a private nonprofit nature sanctuary with 100 acres of land leased from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Featuring Missouri's native plants and wildlife, the sanctuary has hiking trails and picnic area as well as a nature center with gift shop and restrooms. It's free to visit but donations are appreciated. Liberty also has a 12 screen theater showing the latest new movies, a bowling alley, roller skating, batting cages and one of the finest public golf courses in the northland. Plenty of activity is available for everyone. |
